About Us
The Organization of Asian Studies (OAS) at the George Washington University is a graduate student think tank that upholds the Elliott School of International Affairs’ tradition of building professional networks by connecting young professionals interested in Asia, sharing cultural experiences, and engaging the DC policy community.
To advance this mission, our research interests span a wide range of topics, including international relations, diplomacy, global governance, conflict analysis, and economic and trade policy.
Through our China, Japan, Korea, and ASEAN chapters, we publish biweekly articles analyzing current events and host panel discussions and other events that deepen understanding of Asia’s role in global affairs. We are committed to fostering a vibrant community that celebrates cultural literacy and diversity, bridges gaps in understanding, and connects students with faculty and DC-based experts—helping bridge the transition from the classroom to professional life.
